I have found a friend here who is as brave/crazy as i am! 2 months ago I asked my Friend Hannah if she and her daughter Lily (church lily as G calls her) would want to take a day to trip to the western side of the state to a town right near lake Michigan called Holland. Every spring they have a HUGE tulip festival! It was a 3 hour drive, lots of traffic leaving the city a stop a Starbucks screaming kids....and when we FINALLY got to Holland.....it was POURING! not just raining....pouring!
Great. there was a 30% chance of rain, we liked our odds, but wouldn't you know it rained for all of 30 min!!!!! yeah!!!it was a wild and crazy (and long) day, but wonderful day!!we got home after dropping Lily and Hannah off at their house about 1130, sorry i didn't post last night, forgive me!!
There is tulips EVERY Where!!!
Gotta love the HUGE (free, thanks Bloomingdale's) umbrella's i had (luckily) in the car,

Hannah and I thought this fountain was kind of ugly but the girls just stared and stared at it!!
I love this picture, but why does her head look so big!??
Still staring at the fountain!
How much fun is a big umbrella??? you would be surprised!

Switching up the umbrella!

G had a great view of the parade!
About 4pm after a 30 min nap ( girls not us!)we went to lake Michigan! the state beaches are BEAUTIFUL here. (I'll give Michigan that!)
it was windy which made it a little chilly, but beautiful and fun non the less!!
Beach bums Miss Hannah and lily!

For dinner we met up with Hannah's Husband, Dave in Grand Rapids MI (about 45 min away from Holland) Dave has been transferred to Grand rapids for work :( and they have just sold their house here in the D!! Hannah and Lily will join him in July!:( we are sad to lose our new good friends. But both Hannah's and Dave's families live in this area still so I know they will be back to visit all the time! plus now i know the way!! :)
