We had a GREAT 4th of July weekend! Our Friends Stephanie and Brian (who we rent from) gave us the keys to their cabin for the weekend. (Here in Mich they are called "cottages" but B and I aren't a fan of that term...its a cabin, or up north , or at the lake. We refused to call it cottage, in hopes that G will stay a little Minnesota:)
We arrived@lake Wixom, about 2 hours north on Saturday morning. We had a BLAST, lots of pictures...
Capt. B
A popular spot is pontoon Ally. everyone parks their boats and hangs out, the water is very shallow, perfect for kids!
Hangin out on the boat
back at the cabin, G had her 1st canoe experience. I am beyond horrible @ canoing (shocker) B is great, And G has inherited about 50/50..oh well!
Everyone in the neighborhood was so nice to us, the next store neighbors have to kids and had 4 families up there, so about six kids total. they where really nice about including us in activities, here we went out with them to jump and swim in the deep part of the lake
Sunday morning, back at pontoon ally, hangin out with the neighbors
Back having Lunch
lovely....
The 3rd annual neighborhood parade for the kids, they all decorate their bikes and get loaded up on sweets! they ride up and down the street! too fun!
The "Grand Marshals"granddaughter enjoyin the sweets!
Between the neighbors and Brian's house they have built a mini sand beach for the kids, super shallow water and lots of toys!
As Brandon says, once you get married, all previous anniversary's are null and void, but for historical reference the 3rd of July marks Brandon being stuck with me for 13 years!
Getting hydrated....
All day she wanted a "sticky treat"
so she got to stay up LATE and have her first bite....
.....and she's not a fan!! (who's daughter is she????) reason...too sticky.... good grief!
Did a little of our own fire works and watched some over the lake, she loved it, we have never really do fireworks before, and she loved them!
in the car this morning, not wanting to leave after such a great weekend!!
