Hooray!! pictures! (well just one for now!) On Saturday the plan was to get going as soon as G got up and get on the road, well the one morning Gracen slept in to EIGHT!!! 8!?!? (we keep praying that will be a new "normal" but it's about 630-7:30, which is still better than 6am!!)
So any ways we headed up to Bay City MI. If Michigan is shaped like a thumb Bay City is in the web of the thumb. It's only an hour and half drive, much closer than some of the other pretty sites in MI.
The town it's self is not that great, a warn down old factory town......but the view...WOW!!! It was something out of a movie it was so beautiful!!! We ate our lunch on the beach (there was hardly anyone on it, most people where in their boats) ran around and dipped our feet in the cold water! G loved it as much as we did!! the state park also had some nice walking trials and a huge play ground!
After 3 hours we got back in the car to find an apple orchard I read about on line. After getting lost (tom tom wasn't as much help as normal) only to get there and find out they didn't even have apples, just pick your own raspberries and pears (which they said weren't that good!)
Well G was a sleep so we said no thanking you for running around and picking raspberries and bad pears and headed back down 75 to another little town called Frankenmuth "the little Bavaria" It is this super cute German town! (think New Alm if you have ever been...but bigger and much more German-ish. We had a lot of fun! Got ice cream walked over a covered bridge, say lots of horses pulling carriages, went to the cheese haus!!! what a fun town! I know my parents are already taking about going when they come in Oct. We went home and got G to bed. On Sunday we want to church then after G's nap we went to the pool. I had ran out of swim diapers so i said, "oh we'll just use a pull up!!" That had to been one of the funniest sights I have seen since becoming a mom! the diaper absorbed all the water so her bottom was 4x as big, then when we tried to push some of the water out the insides of the diaper exploded!!! HA!!
yesterday we bummed around taking turns sleeping and working out and playing with G. Then after G's afternoon nap we went to the mall to run some errands and let G play in the play area!
We had such a great weekend together as a family! hope ya'll did too!
